Dunchurch parish council has made an application to refurbish, repair and re-thatch the listed bus shelter on the Green.
The bus shelter was originally built in 1949, endowed by local dignitary Alderman A L Adkinson, the then chairman of Dunchurch parish council.
It was dedicated as a memorial to those from the village who fell in World War II and was built from local ash and elm timbers, thatched with native fir and reed.
A recent structural engineer’s report found that the shelter leans slightly to the south and south-west, and that some of the wooden posts had decayed. However, most of the other timbers and roof structure are in a good condition.
The bus shelter is listed Grade II by Historic England.
All details of the application can be found on Rugby Borough Council’s planning portal.
