Keeping your car safe
Advice from Warwickshire Police comes after more vehicle thefts in the east of the county
WARWICKSHIRE Police are reminding people to keep their vehicles safe, after a recent rise in the number of high-value cars being stolen in the east and south of the county.
The police said Range Rovers in particular were being targeted.
They are advising people to:
Always lock cars when you’re not in them
Always close windows and the sun roof
Park in well-lit, busier areas
Fit locking, anti-tamper wheel nuts to secure alloy wheels
Secure number plates with tamper-resistant screws so theives can’t change the identity of a stolen vehicle.
Don’t leave valuables on display
Be on the lookout for people acting suspiciously.
The Police said in a statement: “It can take less than 30 seconds to break into a vehicle. Deter thieves by parking in well-lit busy streets. This increases the chances of them being seen.”
