Have your say on Bilton playground
What would you like to see included in the refurbishments at Apple Grove play area?
PLANS are afoot to spruce up the play area in Apple Grove, Bilton, and Rugby Borough Council now wants to hear from residents.
Apple Grove playground sits between Apple Grove and Henry Hinde Junior School, at the north-east side of Bilton.
It sits in a small, three acre site right on the public footpath from Rugby to Long Lawford. Rugby Borough Council has looked after the site since 1992.
Most of the trees at Apple Grove are oak.
The council wants residents’ opinions to help them develop blueprints for the refurbishments.
People living nearby have been sent consultation packs, and the wider community can share their views online at www.rugby.gov.uk/applegrove.
The survey includes questions on the activities, equipment and facilities people would like to see at the play area, and what things would encourage residents to visit more often.
Cllr Howard Roberts, Rugby Borough Council portfolio holder for leisure and wellbeing, said: "We have a rolling programme of park and play area improvements in the borough, and public consultations play an important role in helping us to identify the improvements residents want to see.
"Feedback from consultations helps us draw up draft designs for the refurbishments, which we hope to share with residents later this year."
The consultation closes at 5pm on Monday 27 September.
Draft designs should be ready before the end of the year and work is scheduled to start on the refurbishments in Spring 2022.
