Churches opening up for Easter

Find a church service or activity near you this Easter. Things look a little bit different this year.

Many of our churches are opening their doors again for public worship this Easter. Here’s a quick list of what’s on.

If you’re attending a public worship service remember to wear a face covering, maintain social distancing and wash your hands regularly. Please don’t attend any of these services if you have Covid-19 symptoms.

All Saints Church, Leamington Hastings

Easter Sunday, 4th April: Holy Communion, 11am in the church

All are welcome to attend, but contact Rev Canon Barbara Clutton on 01788 810372 or use the Leam Valley Churches website to register. The church can hold a maximum of 30 people.

Bilton Evangelical Church

  • Good Friday, 2nd April, 10:30am ‘A new way’ live on Zoom. Visit the website for more details and to sign up.

  • Easter Sunday, 4th April, 10:30 ‘ A new day’ Easter celebration, livestreamed on the website and on YouTube.

BEC also has a special Easter hunt on Saturday 3rd April from 10am. They’ve planned a 1-mile walk starting and finishing at the Woodlands building, taking in Cock Robin wood and passing through Bawnmore Park. The walk will be themed on the Easter story and there will be treats for everyone who finishes. Sign up on the BEC website

Dunchurch Baptist Church

  • Good Friday, 2nd April 11am at Dunchurch Methodist Church: A time of quiet reflection. Please book with Rev Dave Woods (minister@dunchurchbaptistchurch.org.uk) if you would like to attend, as numbers are limited. 

  • Easter Sunday 4th April 10.30am Online all-age Easter celebration. 

  • Easter Sunday 4th April 7pm Communion service via Zoom. Contact Rev Dave Woods for the link.

Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bilton

  • Holy Thursday, 1st April: Mass of the Last Supper, 7:30pm

  • Good Friday, 2nd April: Celebration of the Lord’s Passion, 7pm

  • Easter Vigil, 3rd April: 8pm

  • Easter Sunday, 4th April: 9:30am

All of these services are in the church. Please book in with the church stewards for these services. The services will be modified and shortened in line with the guidelines issued by the Catholic Church’s bishops. If you cannot attend the local services, you are invited to join the Archbishop online for the services at St Chad’s Cathedral, Birmingham

St Edmund’s Church, Thurlaston

The Easter Sunday service will take place in the church on 4th April at 9am. There’s no need to book to attend - all are welcome.

St Mark’s Church, Bilton

Public worship starts again on Easter Sunday, 4th April, at 10am, although anyone wanting to attend should book by emailing glenncurate@icloud.com. There’s space for approximately 30 people and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

After that the church will be open for services on Wednesday and Sunday mornings, with the same booking requirements and limited numbers, until social distancing rules are lifted.

St Mark's Church, Flecknoe

Easter Sunday, 4th April: Holy Communion, 10:30am in the church

All are welcome to attend, but contact Rev Canon Barbara Clutton on 01788 810372 or use the Leam Valley Churches website to register. The church can hold a maximum of 30 people.

St Peter’s Church, Dunchurch

Holy week services will be livestreamed to allow the church to be cleaned after the public worship on Palm Sunday (28th March), but Easter Sunday’s service will be live in the church at 10:30am. All are welcome.

Easter Sunday, 4th April: Holy Communion, 9am in the church
