Advent Calendar: Day 20
Former Rugby High School pupil turns sustainable giftwrap entrepreneur...
Jessie Danger is a former student of Rugby High School and now lives just outside Rugby. During the last year she’s developed her business selling sustainable, hand-printed fabric wrapping and gifts.
All wrapping cloths and bags are hand-printed by Jessie with her own original designs. Each wrapping can be reused to wrap another gift in or repurposed completely – to keep books from getting tatty, for a knitting bag or even jewellery bag.
This way the business eliminates the waste produced by single-use wrapping paper.
Jessie said: "I have been truly surprised by the support for my business and the way that demand for my wraps and gifts is increasing. I want to show people how changing from paper to cloth wrapping that can be reused over and over again can make an environmental difference"
Her website: jessiedanger.co.uk offers a growing variety of eco presents such as men's washbags made from recycled inner tubes, recycled leather notebooks, make your own beeswax wraps and ethical chocolate bars, plus a lovely range of affordable, ethical stocking fillers.
While the business is growing rapidly, the mission at its core remains the same. Jessie wants to encourage more considerate and thoughtful giving by making sustainable choices easy and desirable. She continues with the desire to encourage small changes that make big differences'.
